Head west from Selkirk past Bowhill Country Estate. Head across the Yarrow Water and then the Ettrick Water at Carterhaugh before heading towards Ettrickbridge.

The route climbs away from the river and then the views begin to open out. Leaving Ettrickbridge the route climbs up to the summit at Witchie Knowe. Beyond the summit an extensive view of the Yarrow Valley opens out before a descent into Yarrow. After Yarrowford head into Bowhill Country Estate where you can follow the main estate road before heading back to Selkirk.
