Broadmeadows Youth Hostel
2 star SYHA hostel near Selkirk.
Broadmeadows Youth Hostel was the first Youth Hostel opened by SYHA in 1931, a pilgrimage for true hostellers. This small, friendly budget accommodation is set in the Selkirk area of the historic Scottish Borders. Surrounded by wonderful countryside, when staying at Broadmeadows Youth Hostel mountain bikers have only a half-hour drive to the superb 7stanes trails at Glentress Forest, whilst cyclists have many routes neaby and walkers can follow the Southern Upland Way to Traquair House, museum and brewery. There’s pony trekking and excellent trout and salmon fishing locally, as well as some very scenic cycle routes. Visit the ruins of Newark Castle and Yarrow Kirk or spot bunnies, pheasants, sheep, highland cows and much more in the flowery gardens nearby.
Please note that Broadmeadows is up for sale and visitors should check if the hostel is open before setting off.
